Today was a sleepy day darn my lack! I didn't even go to bed that late. I also did not manage to get much done due to my ukelele research. got a 6.6 on my wax up but it was indeed an ugly premolar. Sigh. Still having trouble with #3 MO too.
Dinner is a Samyang brand beef flavor ramen. It's burning my lip off. >< too spicy. I through some crab sticks in there for protein. I think I will have carrot sticks and almond butter as a snack.
They want us to switch from MUNI pass to clipper card I think so I'll have to run by the walgreens later today as the month is ending.

korokke
Mmmm crunchy fried potato goodness. I had some frozen uncooked ones from Nijiya market hehe and they are yummy. It's strange because the first time I ever had korokke I though it tasted like cold potato salad with a deep fried coating and not in a good way, but it's grown on me. Served up with some raw cabbage for some herbage. Oh, a couple of the korokke opened while frying and the potato close enough to the edge came out ;_; there's little burnt bits everywhere that I will have to clean (in the pot).
Home earlier today yaaaay. I think I did well on my anatomy test. Its looking like a 18-19/20. Now to study for physio >.>

dinner
Anatomy has been filed into my brain. Only practice questions left, so I made dinner! chicken and mushroom alfredo:
1 jar alfredo sauce (i always buy the garlic flavor)
1 chicken thigh cut up into small pieces (smaller than cubes is how i like it, i know that doesn't quite make sense as written)
a handful of mushrooms (because that's all i had, could stand to have more
enough garlic to ward off vampires in a 2 mile radius (7 cloves)
a dash of soy sauce
oil
pasta of choice
heat up the oil in a pan medhigh-high
add some garlic and cook the chicken ( fry? sautee? something)
it was very sticky when i did this and i panicked but fear not, the sauce makes the bits unstick and then you get delicious browned bit flavor in the sauce.
add the soy sauce
when chicken looks fairly cooked (not brown all over yet) add the rest of the garlic and the mushrooms
give it like 3 minutes
dump in the jar sauce
turn to low heat
use a wooden spoon or something to stir and rub at the bottom of the pan to release the delicious
then you add the pasta (mine was already done but i think best would be to start the pasta right before the chicken)
toss well on low for about 5 minutes
done!
It definitely doesn't taste good for you but it's pretty tasty. Anatomy ho!

best day evar!
Yaaaay I did so well today. I was surprised because i got like 5.5 hrs of sleep. i aced my premolar quiz, got an 8.6 on my wax up of the canine (out of 10, last graded one i got 7.8), had my first anatomy lab go pretty well (prof said he'd use our cadaver as a practical cadaver because the structures were big, we cut through so much faaat), got a 5/5 on my crown prep! YEEEEEES. I've been working on that since Thursday. Plus checked off early means I got to work on my amalgam prep a little today. Time to study biochem.
(lunch and dinner were the curry. eating carrot sticks and ranch now. there should be some free pizza on thurs.)

clothes
I went to the Gap yesterday and bought some of those new black pants they have (true straight) in a size 2A (ankle? also this is so I can buy pants at another date haha). Yaaaay not khaki. Got me 2 cardigans too in size S cuz they need to fit over button downs (learning to layer I hope). The irony is today is the warmest day I've had in SF ever but I wore my cardigan anyway. It's amaaaazing today, like real summer. I thought I was late for school because the sun rose so early today. Oddly enough, the last two days I have slept very poorly, even though I had more rest than during the week?
Got my anatomy score today, 26.5/30 or when I get my .5 points back, 27/30. It's weird, I have the same answer as the key but they marked me off. I don't understaaaaaaaaand. Took ICS test today but it seemed easy. Dental anatomy quiz tomorrow and out first Anatomy lab =O.
Did you know you can have grafts on your gums from cadavers? Yeah, in your mouth. Food for thought.
I will post the more exciting things after I hunker down and move the pictures.
Oh yeah! tonight's dinner: hamburger carrot and mushroom curry. (and the remainder of my foie gras as an appetizer).
note to self: water line will be well above the 2 line when making rice. mmmm not dry

it came from beyond the deep!
Ok but it was super strange. I went to Michael's this Sat. and we made gelatinized caramels!! (I had my pie Josh, strawberry rhubarb) I also ate fudge and chocolate cake with marshmallow goo frosting and proceeded to get diabetes. I digress... So you start off making a caramel sauce, Michael says it's alton brown's but I haven't found it on foodtv.com yet. It has almond extract making it taste ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The puffing up at the beginning is pretty cool too, but make sure to use an oversized pot (oversized in comparison to your portion of caramel.
boiling water and sugar
added cream when it was the right color, if I recall correctly there was also smoke
tada!!! mmmmmmm so good. I wish I knew what uses there are for that stuff.
Moving on, that's all very tame. But now I introduce you to alginate (but not the kind the dentist uses which is not very good for eating.
Yeah I wouldn't want that in my mouth either. It solidifies in a calcium bath.
Then for some reason you mix the delicious with the frightening. I lies, I know why.
I think video is more appropriate here. Then this is what you do.
And if that wasn't strange enough, here is the spawning pool of alien babies:
Ahahahaha I told Michael, "At what point does someone look at these and go MMMmmmmm." I don't care for the texture of the ouside (which is kind of agar like) but I'm thinking in bead form it will be more tolerable. Still tasty caramel. So almondy...

frozen delicious
Dinner today is asiaaaan:
and for dessert:
The hakkao are just ok but that's probably to be expected.
So I failed my first practical (if you make one fatal error you get an auto 3/9) but I don't feel too bad because I got all but one of my operative projects checked off and I have plenty of time to study for anatomy this weekend thanks to that. If I have to fail one it might as well be the one where I'm unexperienced! Now I can see why most UOP students don't specialize.
Ohhh Seewan showed me his brother's papercrafts. OMFISH
LIFESIZE LINK
I can't believe how good it looks for paper. I'm going attempt a boo once I find somer paper for my printer.

Dun dun dun
We got graded on our crown preps today, I got a 4/5 yay! 3 stands for clinically acceptable (passing) 5 is perfect. Tomorrow is our first practical. We're drilling on the lower right first molar. Wish me luuuuuck!
Oh we did a round robin crown prep today, it was ridiculous. Hahahaha they had us each start a prep at our own station and then in one minute do stuff then rotate one clockwise. Ryan was ahead of me and he's so tall! I had to adjust every time. Man we had some ugly preps. Good times. Seewan's row won and he gave me some peanut m&m's yaaaaay.
Lookit what I got from 99 Ranch: so beautiful and delicious

Loupe Day
OMFISH so fun hahaha. They think I'm a doctor already haha it only took 1 month of dental school!
I happened to order the Nike safety glasses like frame due to lightweightness and comfy nose area. I feel kinda ripped off getting plastic though.
those picture is for steve
Ryan and me showing off our coolness.
CORN
I heart corn so much. It's so sweet and delicious and the last weekend safeway had it on sale for 6 for $1. So I maaaaaaade che bap.
Michael came over and helped too! So much fun. He wanted to make corn cob pipes but neither of us knows how.
this plus:
equals OH GOSH FROG SPAWN
I was terrified and thought they would never sink, but it was ok @.@
Final product:
MMMMmmmmm It is soooooo delicious. I hope corn goes on sale again. I'll email you the recipe if you want it. I'm going to pretend like it's good for you.

Super tired right now so tiny post. Got some disturbing news today, you can ask me about it. night

hamburger helper?
Dinner tonight is a mixture of ground beef, onions and Kraft Mac n Cheese. Tastes pretty good. Still no veggies >.> but I don't have any in the house and I haven't gone grocery shopping. Wish school ended when lectures ended siiiigh. I'm trying to never be at school at closing ever so I'll have to do at least a little bit every day. Tada my prep of 30 looks pretty good so I'm getting there. This would be so much easier if teeth were flat.I would have more news if I wasn't doing school stuff all the time......sorry.

SO TIRED
My first time staying in lab till closing and I can't say i appreciate it. Ugh this stupid prep is giving me a hard time and I couldn't take a picture because I left the memory card of the camera at home. Also, just a 3 on my mounting -_-. Doomhouse, I have to go into lab at 6:30 tomorrow to finish the prep. Is that ridiculous or what?
Current projects:
wax up of #6
prep 31-O, 19-O
crown prep 8 times 2
;_; someone at least make me some food...

crowded
Two laptops, one desktop and a printer, oy. It's gotten quite crowded on my little Ikea desk. Also, the school laptop is retarded and wont let me install the printer. Today was good at school and I got a good bit of hyper in.
Wax ups were graded today, got a 7.8/10 eh just ok. The next one shall be prettier I suppose.
weird lookin huh? Tomorrow is restorative day with the crazy man and we have mirror exercises, like draw in a mirror to practice drilling in a mirror.... They printed our references on the left side of the page, meaning when I try to do this exercise, my hand covers the reference. Maybe I'm supposed to turn it upside down.
I want ice cream.

smooth
Preps are so much easier on the table top. We should make jaws removable. That's what it looks like if I need to fill your lower molar with amalgam. I won't post the the one I had to do in the mouth yet >.> looks like someone was using the biggest bur ever. Turns out you can only really do 3 teeth well on one bur....I think I did 7, explains a lot (the teeth buuuuuurn). Anywho, meet my mannequin man.
He's so ready to let me maul his removable teeth. Let's have a name him contest.
chicken ramen
Yay, not quite as instant food plus protein! I had more water than you do for 1 packet of soup but only used one packet and the chicken added some flavor and it was yummyyy. I only made half the noodles and ate one thigh which was perfect.
2 thighs boiled in water with onions and kimchee (twice the water for 1 packet of ramen?)
i think it took half an hour on med-low
take out the thighs
bring to boil
add soup base and noodles! (half if you're steph sized)
serve with the chicken
I will ponder more veggies to throw in there for the future. ^-^
Corn is on sale at Safeway. I wanna make che so bad.
physio
i've been doing physio for 3 days straight now. will try to post properly tomorrow. in the meantime beeed solly.
